Behold – The Oracle

I wish I wrote these sort of things down, because if I don’t, people just end up not giving a damn or nodding their heads just to entertain the idea. About a week ago, UbiSoft announced the name as well as approximate release date of the latest Ghost Recon title. We already knew a Ghost Recon was in the works, because Ghost Recon 4 was listed as a registered product name, or whatever you want to call it, in one of UbiSoft’s quarterly reports. I started to poke and prod at potential names, and after the Advanced Warfighter series, that wasn’t particularly hard. I remember speaking to a couple of friends, purely in jest, that if they were going for the whole ‘future warfare’ idea, I wouldn’t be surprised if they called it “Ghost Recon: Future Soldier” because of an existing project which was called just that – Future Soldier (as well as Future Force Warrior – yes, i’m a bit of a military nut). As much as we joked about that idea, it seemed to come to fruitition. The new Ghost Recon title coming to you Holiday 2010 is Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

Now another well placed guess by yours truely was about the remaining characters of Super Street Fighter IV. It was fairly common knowledge that Dee Jay and T. Hawk from Street Fighter II would be making a return, and Capcom soon released a trailer featuring those two, including an all-new character, Juri. Rumours started to spread about the remaining roster of Super Street Fighter IV, because Capcom had mentioned another potential six characters, not stating whether they would be new, or old, or both. I should have put money down on Ibuki and Makoto being two returning characters, but that guess would have been purely based on the fact that I like those two characters. I stuck with it anyway, and after Capcom releasing another trailer showing off Adon, Guy, and Cody, I was a little disappointed. But there was still hope! Luckily, Europe doing what it does best, images were leaked (magazine scans and off-screen screenshot) confirmed that Ibuki, Makoto…and Dudley – would be heading to Super Street Fighter IV. Sure, other people guessed it too, and rumours went around saying just that as well – but I made these guesses before any of that stuff. This is where you start nodding your head, patting me on the back, and saying “Sure”.

Guess i’ll just have to start writing all this sort of thing down, though no doubt the moment I do, it’ll bite me in the behind and make me look a complete idiot. Ah well.
