The thing about Catherine is just this – I need a game to move me, tickle me in that special way, if you will, and I don’t mean rubbin the disc in. In fact, I desperately need a game to do something more than just bore me. Yes, last year I had some fun, but these games, they were all flings, on playthrough stands. I need a romance. Why? Because I need to regain faith in video games. I’m pretty sure everything depends on Catherine. If I don’t have a profound experience with her, it’s game over. This is the line I draw – I refuse to waste my life on products that don’t meet my psychological criteria. That’s why I’m simply not buying ME3, any GTAs if they come out, whatever. If Catherine fails me I’m taking a long, perhaps permanent, break from actually caring about current and upcoming games. Shit, I still have hundreds of japan-exclusive titles for the PS2 to go through.

Y’know, I’d actually be really interested in your thoughts on Catherine. I know I’ve raved about it, but while I find it a stirring piece of intellectual fiction, I didn’t really feel that kind of interactive growth you were looking for. Vincent was a fantastic character – my boner for any character played by Troy Baker is quite raging – but… hrm, perhaps you’re onto something and I just have zero chance at romance and missed the point entirely. Oh well, in any case, your thoughts later are something that intrigue me.

Also, bravo on only a Top 4. This, ladies and gentlemen, is what we call a cynical mind, and is one of the best damn things to watch out for, because it’s just so interesting on what it pulls out.

Actually, Warhawk doesn’t even have a single-player mode. Starhawk will, but Warhawk was multiplayer-only. If you’re looking for older, cheaper titles, though, you might want to check out CheapAssGamer.com. They get a lot of used things from Gamefly and user trade-ins, as well as hosting a large library of unused older games.
