Joe Marsden – Founder, Administrator, Editor-in-chief, and Writer
Favourite Games: Grim Fandango, Counter-Strike, Tribes 2, Full Throttle, Baldur’s Gate (Series), Icewind Dale (Series), Neverwinter Nights, Unreal Tournament, Quake III Arena, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear, Team Fortress 2, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, DOOM II, Duke Nukem 3D
Bio: I founded the site in January 2010, and after some empty months of not much success, things finally picked up and here we are now! College student by day, gaming obsessed ‘wannabe’ journalist by night, I’ve been playing games since the age of four; even stuff like Duke Nukem 3D. So I’m a bit of a broken human being due to such an up bringing, but at least it gives me some history that perhaps others my age wouldn’t ordinarily have. Currently studying Microsoft Cisco Networking and an iMedia course by day, and I’m always improving on my FPS skills in the hope that I ruin peoples lives by night. I also hope to not suck at StarCraft II one day…but that’ll never happen.

Josiah Renaudin – Executive Editor & Writer
Favourite Games: Metal Gear Solid (Series), Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Heavy Rain, Shadow of the Colossus, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy X, Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, Banjo-Kazooie, Viewtiful Joe, League of Legends, Dark Cloud.
Bio: Just a college kid with a dream and way too much free time for video games. I’m extremely interested in every aspect of the video game industry, and spend just as much time playing games as I do researching them. I started on the NES, and now mostly stick with Sony consoles and some very light PC gaming. I attend Clarion University of Pennsylvania and study communications (with a concentration in journalism) in hopes to actually learn how to write “academically” so I can ignore that style and do my own thing. I’ve been a writer/editor for Reaction Time since the summer of 2010, and take pride in being Joe’s only friend. This is what I love to do, and I plan to continue writing about all things gaming for the rest of my life – or until arthritis kicks in.

Favourite Games: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, Kirby Super Star, Donkey Kong Country 2, Banjo-Kazooie, Metal Gear Solid 3, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Umineko no Naku Koro ni, Warcraft III, Princess Maker 2, Crash Bandicoot 3, Phoenix Wright (Trilogy), The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, Space Channel 5.
Bio: I like to think of myself as ‘obnoxiously young’ and ‘annoyingly analytical’. My mother owned a SNES when I was born, and I still have fond memories of being better than her at Super Mario World by age 4. Firmly rooted in the House of Nintendo for years before finally purchasing a Playstation 2, I now hop from console to console whenevera release might pique my interest. I’m deeply invested in seeing video games grow as a medium, and will often try to cling onto tidbits, mechanics, devices, or various trinkets that games use and keep them as reference points for seeing the medium progress. On the side, I work with youth and adult theater programs and pretend that I’m being busy to hide my incredible laziness. I’m in the pursuit of a game so engrossing and absorbing in mechanics, atmosphere, and writing that I will be able to say that we have reached a wonderful and incredible peak in the world of gaming. Then I will praise it for the rest of my life and beat children fifty years from now with an old N64 controller for daring to think that Perfect Dark didn’t age well.

Michael Fossbakk – Writer
Favourite Games: Legend of Zelda: Windwaker, Tales of Symphonia, World of Warcraft, Gears of War (series), Metal Gear Solid (series), Donkey Kong 64, Mario Kart Double Dash, Pokemon: Red Version, Borderlands, Guitar Hero (series), Banjo-Tooie, Age of Empires
Bio: I was born in Norway and lived there until I was 8 and moved to Michigan in 1999 “to meet my mom’s side”. I’ve spent most of my life in Michigan now and am attending college, majoring in English. I’ve always loved the video game industry since I had mind enough to start paying attention to it via things like Nintendo Power, at first, and then moving into cyberspace and spending every day checking Gamespot.com and 1up.com. I have a strong affinity for technology and computers (as most gamers do, I imagine) and figured I’d give game development a shot…until I realized I don’t really like programming (and I’m no artist). So, I ventured down the path of writing and enjoy it far more. Now I’m writing for Reaction Time and having a great time!

Sam Nolan – News Editor
Favourite Games: Psi Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, Hitman (series), Uncharted (series), The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, EA NHL (series), Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Gun, Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup, Metal Gear Solid (series), Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Aggressive Inline, Garry’s Mod, God of War (series)
Bio: I’m a video game player in the purest sense–which is to say that I love games, but am very bad at them. I got my first console, a PlayStation, for Christmas when I was 9 and have been enraptured with video games ever since. I remember the first time I beat my brother in a match of Madden better than I do the first time I said “I love you” to a woman (though both situations had the same result: defeat, the next time we met). As a side note, I think Psi Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy was the best game of all time, and I sometimes cry myself to sleep wondering why they never made a sequel. When I’m not playing video games, sobbing about Psi Ops, or writing about the recent happenings in the industry, I’m usually writing in some other form or watching out-of-vogue TV shows on Netflix.

Satoru Kojima – Writer
Favourite Games: Planescape: Torment, The Witcher 1 & 2, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Love Plus+, Shin Megami Tensei (series), Diablo II, Yakuza (series)
Bio: Before you ask – I’m not the wrestler, and I’m not related to the MGS guy. I’m eclectic, which is a nicer way of saying mixed, both ethnically and culturally. Born in the US but raised in the great city of Tokyo, Japan I’ve been a player (don’t like the term “gamer”) since I got my first SNES in 1991. From that day forward I knew that these interactive images on the screen of my TV, and later PC, will play a huge part in my life. And being a video game player in Japan is really amazing. I love RPGs, am a graphics junkie (if the game looks bad I don’t play it), and always try to get the most of any experience. In writing I usually prefer freeform editorial work, but I’m not scared of doing writing other forms. Currently I live in Poland and work as a freelance publicist.

Favourite Games: Saints Row (series), Evil Genius, Sid Meier’s Pirates!, Civilization V, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Max Payne (series), Unreal Tournament III, Mass Effect (series), Alan Wake, The Simpsons Hit & Run, Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening
Bio: Born and raised in the beautiful, sunny Colorado, I spend most of my time inside in front of a computer, writing whatever and whenever I can. I’m going to college for psychology and counseling, but I also make time for plenty of video games with healthy doses of music, comedy and film on top of that. I also have a perverse love for things that suck. I think critically and analytically about everything—my curse. I’ve got way too many interests and I have to constantly be learning something new: my mind is consistently torn between those four primary interests you see up there. It makes life fun and interesting, and that’s what I live for. Writing for Reaction Time is a fresh new direction and I could not be more excited.
